"Is Everybody OK?"

                Robert Kennedy was my idol. I didn't know a whole lot as an eighteen year old but I knew what I loved....and we all loved Bobby Kennedy. To this day....fifty-six years after that fateful date at the Ambassador Hotel....Robert Kennedy was and is the most compassionate politician that I have ever witnessed on the national scene. His first words after he sustained what would be a mortal head wound were...."Is everybody OK?" That is what he was concerned about....was everyone else OK?
                My new bride and I honeymooned on Cape Cod....and we have vacationed there a number of times since. As a young impressionable Roman Catholic youth I had a penchant for having idols to look up to....Roberto Clemente was another....Elvis yet another....the Marquis de Lafayette....(long story)....another....the entire Kennedy family and history became somewhat of an obsession. 
                As for Robert F. Kennedy Jr....because he is Bobby's son....I would bend over backwards....and have bent over backwards.....to look for the good in him. And there are a lot of things that I like about him....but he has often been a radical for very bad causes. His abortion stance should influence evangelicals against confirmation....but all those pro-life reasons for voting....the lesser of two evils.....were deceptive. Yeah there was truth there but the real reason we supported someone like Trump was because we want our old life back....college for the kids....and less taxes....and safe suburbs and rural communities. It has little to do about God.....if it did then Donald Trump himself would be a concern.
                So they are saying that six senators could be the difference in confirming....not RFK....but Matt Gaetz. This is an issue that evangelicals for Trump have to push way back in their mind....and disable their common sense! As John Bolton....(who used to be one of our conservative heroes by the way)....Bolton described the Gaetz nomination as the worst nomination....in history! And it is. I'm still having a hard time realizing that it happened....and a harder time not understanding how it is even being contemplated.
                Where would I even begin in describing how this is ludicrous? This is the top law enforcement individual....in the nation! We today have facts against illegal immmigration....but no compassion for the alien in our midst. You do know that compassion was a big command from God to the Israelites do you not?  The Gaetz nomination is an outrageous power grab. If the Congress gives Trump the power of recess appointments....then that which we have always accused the Democrats of attempting....subverting the constitution....we would have been the ones to do it!
