Shame

                The Israelites on a number of occasions had been driven to repentance through shame....shame at what they had become....or what gods they had chosen....or at what they had failed to do. Moses and Nehemiah and Zerubbabel and others were used by God at these times. May He have mercy upon His people today in America....that we might see our shame....at what we have become....and what gods we have chosen....and what we have failed to do.
                The shame is not so much in walking into a voting booth and checking off the name of a vile ogre of a man....who is also a false prophet and an antichrist as John labelled the many antichrists who had gone out....whose god is a god of fortresses as Daniel informs us....for our shame had already been established over years as we let this man continue to bully and deceive his way onto that ballot in that voting booth.
                 I have to return yet again to the concept of winnowing....for this vast army of evangelicals will be whittled down through winnowing by God to a remnant. The others will continue to say....God bless America....until they can see for themselves that God has not blessed America.
                 There is more than enough shame to go around....and I carry my own heavy load....but there is even more mercy and grace that God offers to those who return to trusting in Him alone. May He do this quickly....if that be His will....for this will be difficult for us to once again have eyes to see and ears to hear. May God apply a balm to cover the pain of seeing what we have done and what we have become!
