The image of the large ship-like formation in the mountains of Ararat, Turkey has always been interesting. As it was reported locally at the time....heavy rains and three earthquakes uncovered the formation. This was in May of 1948....but most locals were probably more interested in the news of the new nation of Israel that had just been formed....and the war that followed! You can Google images of the formation by typing in....Durupinar....but as in all the other supposed 'discoveries' of Noah's Ark....it was investigated and rejected....and then reinvestigated and somewhat accepted....and then reinvestigated again and rejected again....but the site received renewed interest recently when scientists discovered signs of ancient human activity around it.
Very recently....in fact it is in the news now....as in the video above....other scientists announced their findings on a 4,000 year old Babylonian tablet of cuneiform etchings that was discovered and eventually placed in the British Museum back in the late 1800s. There was definitely a map on the tablet....and writings. It showed what the Babylonians would have thought of as all the world....or all of the world that mattered at all to them. The words on the tablet described Noah and his ark....and gave directions to it....which pointed to one of the higher mountains of Ararat....and to that Durupinar rock formation!
This will probably go back and forth.....but this I know....the remains of Noah's Ark are up in those mountains somewhere....and it wouldn't surprise me a bit that they were discovered just as Jesus returns in judgment....
