I Know That I Often.....'Rub Christians The Wrong Way'....Why Is That....Here Is One Reason

I think that it would be accurate to say that many times in these posts I have....rubbed Christians the wrong way. There is more than one source for this. One would be on Donald Trump....a genuine biblical false prophet....a destroyer par excellence....whom we not only put in office....and were a driving force in putting him in office....then not only failed to hold accountable while in office....but somehow would not mind if he gets back in office!

That's one way. Another way is in how I often encourage believers to flee....flee talk radio and conservative pundits. They are not leading us in the right direction....as they are leading us away from Christ and towards politics.....and a crass and hardened and unethical politics at that. I also encourage people to flea the megachurch....that recruits rather than evangelizes....and having recruited through entertainment and an available safe space in this violent world....finds itself in the position where it cannot then suddenly change and preach repentance and the cross and the cost of discipleship.
Yet another area that I emphasize often....where Christians in general can give lip service to at times.....but definitely do not want to dwell on it....or even explore the biblical evidence for it....is the nearness of the return of Jesus Christ....and the judgments not only on this world....but on America....and not only on America.....but on the church in America.
There is a fourth reason....the reason for this post.....the most important reason of all. To be a Christian one must be born again. We do not want to hear that phrase. Most never understood it to begin with....and just thinking about it leads to the theoretical possibility that we ourselves....although church goers....who will proclaim that we are Christian to anyone....and are solidly.....or so we think....conservative and republican in our politics.....and against abortion....that we might in fact not be this born again....whatever that may be....and therefore not the redeemed of Christ.....not Christian.
I want to give just one thing in this post to think about on this topic. It may be hard to read through....short though the comment is. We have children....(I have to use this scenario).....adult children.....whom we love more than ourselves....and maybe more than life itself. We in effect live for them. We would do literally anything for them.....anything except ultimately humble ourselves before God to see what He says about our salvation....and that of these children that we love.
These young people may be....from what I have experienced with many friends and acquaintances....very nice and polite young people.....good citizens....hard workers.....compassionate even....and they may go to church....but in their conversation Jesus Christ is never....ever mentioned. God's Word is never referred to.....and the salvation of anyone....is never considered. There is no evidence that they are anything other than....nice....polite....unsaved young adults....and yet the Christian parent shows no outward concern on this.  Rebellious unsaved children of devout believers in Jesus Christ are everywhere....some of the greatest preachers have children who outright reject God....that is not the issue. The issue is....through either ignorance or refusal to address the issue of regeneration....do we love ourselves....more than our children.
So....it is one thing to hold to a personal opinion on the necessity of being born again....that is our right....the right to make the wrong choice....and to be stubborn on this till the day we die....but if we are going to make that choice for our children....in essence by ignoring it....and never even being concerned that these children that we 'love' may very well not be redeemed children of God....then we really should examine what this 'love' is....for ultimately....the love that we claim to have....goes only so far as our stubbornness to humble ourselves before the Word of God. Our greatest love of all....may therefore be for ourselves.
