If one does not fully understand the need to be born again....if one thinks that phrase just a vague description of some sort....then they will not cry out for the salvation of loved ones....for they consider them secure....but under false premises....and it may be that you yourself have believed the false gospel in the modern church that does not save. I listened to a Charles Spurgeon sermon on the way home that would bless anyone so inclined to listen to it....just Google....Spurgeon sermon YouTube....Sitting By.
The above paragraph was added at the end of a post from a few days ago....but since then I've listened to the sermon again....so I want to give it its own post. Possibly you will read this post tonight....Saturday evening....and keep the recommendation of the Spurgeon sermon in mind as you leave church tomorrow....or you may not read this until tomorrow after your worship service.
I am a little piggy. That's the phrase we heard so often while growing up when we took too much dessert....or too many helpings of the mashed potatoes....well I have to have these sermons coming all the time....wah wah....I want my sermons.....I want to hear Jesus Christ preached in all His glory as faithful shepherds of the past preached Him!
I sneak them in....morning....afternoon....just about every time I'm in the car. There's not a ration card on this is there..."Hey...you're hogging up all the good sermons!"?
So anyway....this sermon today....preached by Spurgeon on November 13, 1887....titled as I mentioned above...."Sitting By"....is available if you came home from church and can't even remember what the sermon was about....or if you come out feeling like Little Jack Horner...."What a good boy am I".....then you have this alternative.
